PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly and efficiently exchange pallets for placing a work W to be fed to a machining line. SOLUTION: An automatic warehouse device 1 has a plurality of storing shelves 5 for freely storing the pallet 3 with a work W placed thereon and a crane device 9 for carrying in/out the pallet 3 to/from the respective shelves 5. When the pallet 3 is exchanged between a work feeder 11 for feeding the work W on the pallet 3 to the machining line and the automatic warehouse device 1, the pallet 3 is transferred from the position of the work feeder 11 to a pallet exchanging position ST1 by a first pallet transfer device 27, and at the same time, the pallet 3 is transferred from the pallet exchanging position ST1 to the position of the work feeder 11 by a second pallet transfer device 29. The pallet 3 is quickly exchanged between the crane device 9 and the first/second pallet transfer devices 27, 29 of the pallet exchanging position ST1, since they are done directly.
