PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply adjust the position of an armrest to the right and left and to keep it at the position without operating a locking mechanism. SOLUTION: A stoppage plate 14 which faces front and rear directions on a substrate 6 provided within the armrest 4 and has an engaging surface 14a at its front end is fixed to the upper end of a supporting shaft 10 in a non-rotatable manner. On the substrate opposing the surface 14a of the plate 14, a position adjusting plate 18 which is constantly biased toward the side of the plate 14 by a biasing means 29 and provided with a plurality of engaging grooves 19 with which the surface 14a can selectively engages on an end face on the side of the plate 14 is provided movably in the front and rear directions.
