Arrangement for monitoring the functioning of a bicycle lamp by means of a radio signal which can provide an optical indication of the lamp status to the cyclist

The arrangement includes a sensor for sensing the light emitted from the rear lamp (1) of a bicycle and for generating a signal containing information as to whether light is output or not. The signal is provided to a radio transmitter (4). The transmitter emits a radio signal if operating voltage is applied to the transmitter and if the light signal indicates that the lamp is emitting light. The radio signal is detected by a receiver (6) in the field of view of the cyclist. The receiver has an optical display which indicates to the cyclist whether the rear lamp is working or not.
