A sewing machine, comprising a holding frame (8) installed rotatably around a shuttle base and linearly movably in an axial direction having a supporting frame part (27) for holding a curved sewed body as a sewed object within a range short of all the periphery of a circumference and a fixing means (28) for fixing the sewed body held on the supporting frame part to the supporting frame part, wherein a plurality of holding members (21a, 21b, 21c) for holding the sewed body by fixing or holding the side edges of the sewed body at specified positions are installed on the supporting frame part (27), and the supporting frame part is opened to a space surrounded by the holding members. The plurality of holding frames (8) may be detachably installed in a multi-head sewing machine.
