<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate continuous static images by using regions trimmed from frames. <P>SOLUTION: When a desired region of moving image data is specified (S144-S147), static images obtained from top and end frames in a specified region are displayed, and an interface-specifying trimming regions for the two frames is provided (step S153, S154). Based on the trimming regions specified by using the interface, the trimming regions in each of a predetermined number of frames, that should be extracted from the specified regions, are set. Then, the predetermined number of frames are extracted from the specified regions of the moving image data, and partial images of the trimming regions, which are set individually, are extracted from each of the predetermined number of framed extracted and a predetermined number of continuous static images are created (step S149).
