PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for driving EL (electroluminescence) display device by which the deterioration of an EL element is suppressed.

SOLUTION: When a panel-mounting module is charged, the reverse bias drive is performed. The reverse bias drive is performed by applying voltage Vm to a source signal line from a source driver circuit. The voltage Vm is written to the anode side of the EL element of a pixel by applying an ON-voltage to a gate signal line. The voltage V1 lower than the voltage Vm is applied to a source (S) terminal of a TFT for driving from an electric source circuit. A reverse bias voltage is applied to the EL element with the voltage Vdd and the voltage Vm.
