<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently recover a large amount of components of a specimen at a low dilution degree at a time in batch electrophoresis. <P>SOLUTION: A batch electrophoretic apparatus has a recovery chamber for recovering the components of the specimen separated by electrophoresis formed between an upper and a lower glass tubes, the end faces of which are made to face each other vertically and in which tubes a gel support for separation and a lower gel matter are respectively formed. The upper and the lower glass tubes are of a square tube, having a cross section of elongated rectangle, and the recovery chamber comprises a hollow recovery chamber forming body, into which the upper and the lower square glass tubes are respectively inserted from the top and bottom sides. Ports from outside of the chamber forming body to its hollow part comprises four ports, i.e., a pair consisting of a recovery liquid inflow port and a recovery liquid overflow port, and an air supply port and a recovery liquid collection port. The recovery liquid inflow port and the recovery liquid collecting port are aligned, in level with the outer periphery of the end face of the lower square glass tube, and the chamber formed body can be tilted so as to position the recovery liquid collecting port at the lowest level of the chamber. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
