<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device which involves no sacrifice of a margin relative to an offset while ensuring fixability when starting printing from standby temperature adjustment within a fixed time after a power is turned on. <P>SOLUTION: After the power of the device is turned on, a setting temperature in a standby condition is decreased stepwise according to an elapsed time after starting the standby condition waiting for a print command. Specifically, when the detection temperature of the thermistor 13 reaches a specific temperature after the start of power delivery (t11), the rotation of a fixing roller 10 and the rotation of a pressure roller 11 are started. When the detection temperature reaches a second temperature, the rotation of each is stopped (t12). In the subsequent standby condition, a temperature adjustment at a first temperature (160°C) is started. After an elapse of predetermined time (t14), temperature adjustment at a second temperature (150°C) which is lower than the first temperature is started. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
