<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character input device using a keyboard device for a musical instrument capable of efficiently executing a character input operation. <P>SOLUTION: This character input device is provided with a keyboard 2 constituted of the array of black keys 20a to 20o and white keys 21a to 21u, and a keyboard device 3 for inputting music information for generating codes corresponding to the keys operated according to a key operation on the keyboard 2 is used for this character input device.
