<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microorganism carrier capable of being prevented from distortion and permanent set in fatigue caused by long-term use as a fluidized medium in a sewage disposal tank, without being required to decrease an expansion ratio, and capable of being given at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: This microorganism carrier is formed out of a polyolefinic resin crosslinked open-cell foam containing an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer. It is preferable that the polyolefinic resin crosslinked open-cell foam containing the ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer has a vinyl acetate content of 12-30 wt% based on the polyolefinic resin in an amount of 100 wt% in total, contains the ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer in an amount of≥75 wt%, has the expansion ratio of 10-40 times, and is produced by a two-stage foaming process. Further, it is preferable that the microorganism carrier comprises the polyolefinic resin crosslinked open-cell foam containing an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer and having an elastic resilience percentage of≥10% and is used as the fluidized medium. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
