PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a cosmetic affording high moisturizing effect despite having good usability and feeling in use including good spreadability and nongreasiness. SOLUTION: This cosmetic contains (a) one or more kinds selected from 2-methacryloyloxyethyl phosphorylcholine homopolymer and a copolymer of 2-methacryloyloxyethyl phosphorylcholine and a hydrophobic monomer and (b) one or more kinds selected from gellan gum, pectin, tamarind gum and a carboxymethylcellulose salt.
