The operating method has logic addresses converted in an address conversion unit (5) into physical addresses for a number of memory pages (31,32,33,..) and at least one additional memory page of the data memory (1), with storage of data allowing an address conversion stored in a non-addressable memory region, a copy of the programming data and a copy of the data in the non-addressable memory region transferred to a back-up memory (4) during programming. The data held in the back-up memory is transferred to the additional memory page at the end of programming.
