OPTICAL GAIN EQUALIZER, LIGHT AMPLIFIER, AND OPTICAL TRANSMISSION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical gain equalizer having a loss wavelength characteristics without generating a ripple.

SOLUTION: A curve I9for showing a loss wavelength characteristic of the optical gain equalizer has a first loss peak located on a short wavelength side and a second loss peak located on a longer wavelength side than the first loss peak and having a larger peak value and a wider half value width than the first loss peak. When the loss wavelength characteristic indicated as a curve I9is realized by using a plurality of optical loss filters having a cyclic loss characteristic, a loss peak on the long wavelength side of the optical loss filter for realizing the first loss peak is made located under the curve I9so that the formation of ripple is prevented.
