PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium having high reliability and suitable for enlarging the tolerable quantity of a misalignment between a magnetic pole of a head and a magnetic body, to solve the problem that the magnetic characteristics of a recording film is deteriorated in a working process of a magnetic thin film (the recording film) and to widen the tolerable range of the floating height of the head. SOLUTION: The magnetic recording medium is characterized by being provided with a substrate 11, a soft magnetic film 12 provided on the substrate 11, a plurality of soft magnetic layers 14 provided on the soft magnetic layer 12 and arranged in the direction parallel to the upper surface of the substrate 11 and a ferromagnetic recording film 15 provided on a plurality of the soft magnetic layers 14 and having magnetic anisotropy in the direction vertical to the upper surface of the substrate 11.
