PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve convergence of idling speed by setting feedback permit vehicle speed for idling speed control high during idling driving in a D-range. SOLUTION: In the case of the D-range, a basic target idling speed Nset0 corresponding to that at stopping in the D-range is first set (S2). A vehicle speed VSP is loaded (S3) and an added rotational speed Nup is set corresponding to the vehicle speed VSP and the basic target idling speed Nset0 (S4). The added rotational speed Nup is added to the basic target idling speed Nset0 to set a target idling speed Nset (S5).
