<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an isotope-labeled nutrient medium for producing an isotope-labeled protein useful for NMR measurement and a method for obtaining a sample for NMR spectroscopy to determine three-dimensional structure information on a protein. <P>SOLUTION: The nutrient medium capable of supporting the proliferation of a mammal or insect cell culture contains all amino acids essential for proliferation of the cells, assimilatable carbohydrate sources, essential inorganic substances, and growth factors.
