PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lens interchangeable electronic camera capable of realizing excellent photography without spoiling the operability at various angles by using various lenses. SOLUTION: The lens device is equipped with a lens means for focusing, an operation means for permitting/inhibiting focusing by user's operation, and a control means for controlling the lens means for focusing to move to a focusing point in response to operation by the operation means and a control signal for permitting/inhibiting the focusing action from an image pickup device main body, respectively.
