PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device in which generation of a blurred display edge, noise caused by quantization and flickering is prevented and power consumption is sufficiently reduced. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device 1-1 displays an image on a liquid crystal panel 12 on which pixels made of RGB picture elements are arranged. When the resolution of input image data differs with respect to the resolution of the panel 12, resolution conversion is conducted and the image is displayed. Values of the pixels are reflected onto the picture elements included in a region to be occupied in the panel 12 for every pixel of the input image data. A computing element 6-1 determines gradation of each picture element so that color difference with respect to chromaticity by the pixels of the input image data becomes a minimum. Since the pixels of the input image data are expressed by all picture elements included in the region where the pixels are to be occupied, a faithful image is displayed and generation of a blurred display edge is reduced.
