DEAERATION/DEGASSING SYSTEM FOR POWER PLANT CAPACITORS

The invention relates to a deaeration/degassing system for a power plant capacitor (1) comprising a condensate receptacle (9) and an optional air cooler (6). The inventive deaeration/degassing system essentially encompasses a suction unit (22) and a suction conduit (19, 21) for a steam/inert gas mixture (20), said suction conduit (19, 21) connecting the capacitor (1) or the air cooler (6) of the capacitor (1) if an air cooler (6) is provided to the suction unit (22). The invention is characterized by the fact that a device (15) for direct contact condensation, e.g. a packing column (17) or a bottom contact apparatus, is disposed inside the suction conduit (19, 21). Said device (15) for direct contact condensation can be penetrated by the steam/inert gas mixture in direct contact with and counter to the direction in which the cooled condensate (24) flows from the condensate receptacle (9).
