An ink jet printing method for printing color images on a printing matter by using a plurality of kinds of ink, wherein ink nozzles (9a-9d) for respectively storing a plurality of kinds of ink and a dilution nozzle (8) for storing a diluent able to dilute inks are used to force ink to jet from an ink nozzle (9a) by means of an electrostatic attraction force and form a droplet L on a printing matter (4), then ink is jetted out from an ink nozzle (9b) by means of an electrostatic attraction, and inks are mixed in the droplet L to form a droplet giving an arbitrary intermediate color. In this case, primary color inks are positively mixed in the droplet L.
