An interior rear view mirror mounting assembly, which incorporates a warning light in the housing and is visible through an aperture in the mounting plate. The warning light is activated in conjunction with the vehicle's brake lights to alert approaching vehicles, as well as pedestrians and vehicles directly in front of the vehicle equipped with the invention. The mounting plate is adhered to the windshield with the aperture facing out. The warning light is connected to the vehicle's wiring harness for the brake light system.
