<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outline extracting method, an image processor and its computer program whose arithmetic quantity is small, and whose extracting precision is high. <P>SOLUTION: A control point being an outline candidate point is set outside a shape object whose outline should be extracted, and an energy function(evaluation function) is set based on the color distribution information of an outline area determined by the control point. Then, the presence/absence of the control point overlapped on the shape object is detected, and when the control point on the shape object is detected, the enlargement processing of the outline area to move the control point to the center of gravity of the outline area only by predetermined pixels is carried out (S5).
