<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting element and an organic electroluminescent element having a diffraction grating for improving light extraction efficiency without giving unnatural feeling to a viewer. <P>SOLUTION: The light emitting element is a self luminous element with the refractive index of a light emitting part being higher than the refractive index of air, and includes a diffraction grating structure on the surface of a light emitting side of the light emitting element, and a color separation filter between the light emitting part and the surface of the light emitting side. The minimum value on a spectral product of a white light emission waveform from the light emitting part and the spectral transmittance of the color separation filter is not more than 50% of the maximum value on the spectral product. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
