PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drilling-grinding tool for an optical part which is low in cost, good in durability, and usable even for drilling a small-diameter hole in an optical part, and to provide a method of drilling and grinding the optic by using the optical part drilling-grinding tool. SOLUTION: The method of drilling and grinding the optical part is carried out by mounting the drilling-grinding tool 1A for the optical part having a columnar grinding section 2A on a rotatably driven shaft, and drilling and grinding the small-diameter hole in a lens 73 which is formed of an optical glass material and driven for rotation. According to the method, a front end face 11A of the grinding section 2A has a slot 12A formed therein, communicating between the outside on one side of the grinding section 2A and the outside on the other side of the same.
