Analyser cuvette or tube, has the inner surface coated with a dried reagent comprising agglutinin extracted from potato, or the cuvette having in it a porous membrane disk, into which the reagent has been dried. Method for determn., comprises applying a sample of whole blood into an analyser cuvette as described above so as to accomplish agglutination of the blood cells, and determining the analyte in the presence of the agglutinated blood cells. The membrane disk on the cuvette is opt. immobile. The cuvette also comprises a heparinised capillary through which a blood sample can be drawn in. The dimensions of the cuvette are suitable for drawing a small blood sample of 1-100 ~ml. The agglutinin extracted from potato is thermo-stable agglutinin and is specific for the N-acetyl-D-glucosanin -oligomers, causing agglutination of erythrocytes, leukocytes and thrombocytes. The agglutinin may be impure potato agglutinin (BSR), pure STA-lectin or any other lectin which agglutinates cells but does not bind plasma components to be analysed. The agglutinin is comprised in a specific BSR-reagent.
