<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus preventing a deviation in transfer position due to the tendency of speeding up and a variation in tension of a transfer medium occurring when constraint of an end of the transfer medium is released between a photoreceptor drum and a transfer roll. <P>SOLUTION: First to fourth photoreceptor drums 3a to 3d installed in parallel to the carrying direction of the transfer medium, a transfer carrying belt 13 carrying the transfer material P and first to fourth transfer rolls 6a to 6d installed to be corresponding in parallel to each photoreceptor drum are provided on the image forming apparatus. The carried state of the end of the transfer material on the transfer carrying belt is detected by the passage of time of a timer and the carried speed of the transfer medium by a fixing device 2 is controlled to be reduced stepwise by a CPU based on the carried state of the end of the transfer medium. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
