<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of accurately adjusting the forming position of the image of one color component being an adjusting object by accurately detecting the density of the image to be adjusted. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with an irradiation means 21a radiating a light beam to the image to be adjusted which is formed on a transfer belt 7 by superposing and transferring the image of one color component being the adjusting object on the image of a color component being reference, and a regularly reflected light beam detection means 21b and an irregularly reflected light beam detection means 21c respectively detecting a regularly reflected light beam and an irregularly reflected light beam generated one irradiating light beam radiated to the image to be adjusted by the irradiation means 21a. It uses the detection means 21 for detecting the density of the image to be adjusted based on the regularly reflected light beam and the irregularly reflected light beam so as to adjust the forming position of the image of one color component based on the density detected by the detection means 21. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
