<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily control display positions of musical score symbols. <P>SOLUTION: Musical score display data have attribute information described by timing indicating a horizontal display position to which a musical score symbol should be moved from a display position specified with timing information or attribute information described with pitch related information indicating a vertical display position to which the musical score symbol should be moved from the specified display position. The display position of the musical score symbol is controlled by reference to the attribute information. Namely, the horizontal position on a musical score where the musical score symbol is displayed is specified according to the timing information and the vertical display position is specified at a predetermined position, but the display position is moved according to the indication of the horizontal display position or vertical display position to which the musical score symbol should be moved from the specified position based upon the attribute information.
