<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a constant speed running control apparatus for a vehicle which realizes compatibility of change-response property to allow vehicle speed to approach a desired set vehicle speed smoothly and setting easiness to a partitioned vehicle speed values when a desired vehicle speed is far away from a current set vehicle speed in changing a set vehicle speed during fixed speed running controlling. <P>SOLUTION: The constant speed running control apparatus controls the vehicle speed to the set vehicle speed Vs based on setting by a driver. This apparatus executes a step S200 for measuring continuous operation time t of the driver when the set vehicle speed Vs increases or decreases by continuous operation of a vehicle speed setting operation device 3 for operating increase or decrease of the set vehicle speed Vs, steps S204 and S210 for setting the partitioned vehicle speed value VL based on the set vehicle speed Vs, and steps 205, 207, 211 and 213 for increasing variation amount of the set vehicle speed Vs as the operation time t of the driver is prolonged when the vehicle speed Vs increases or decreases by continuous operation of the vehicle speed setting operation device 3 and then holding the current set vehicle speed Vs for a specified time T till the set vehicle speed Vs reaches the partitioned vehicle speed value VL. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
