PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the setting condition of a video camera using a cable common to video signals and control signals, without causing their mutual interference. SOLUTION: A video camera 100 periodically outputs command pulses on signals in a vertical interval section. A controller 200 outputs an ACK pulse at the timing of a wanted control command. The video camera 100 executes the command just before detecting the ACK pulse, thus realizing a remote control. To transfer a command between the video camera 100 and the controller 200, a control pulse is inserted on a specified line in the vertical interval section of video signals via a common coaxial cable 300. Thus, the video signals and control signals do not interfere with each other even using the common coaxial cable 300, and the setting condition of the video camera 100 is changeable.
