PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent metal burrs from occurring without stress concentration onto one position upon sealing, and improving airtightness and hence caulking accuracy by satisfactorily securing the biting amount of the cut edges of an opening into a sealing plate upon the sealing. SOLUTION: In an electric capacitor wherein hard resin and an elastic member are stuck to each other to provide a sealing plate, which plate is contained in an outer casing together with a capacitor element, and an end of an opening of the outer casing is treated by curling and is sealed, and further the end surface of the opening is previously caulked and is then sealed with a press jig.
