PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an assay method using enzyme labeled antibodies, reducing the amount of luminescence on a background. SOLUTION: Ligands or receptors are joined to an adsorptive region of a sterilized biochemical analysis unit having the porous adsorptive region. Labeled receptors or the labeled ligands labeled by a labeling material are peculiarly joined to the ligands or the receptors. Subsequently, enzyme labeled antibodies are peculiarly joined to the labeled receptors or the labeled ligands. A chemiluminescent substrate is put in contact with the enzyme labeled antibodies peculiarly joined to the labeled receptors or the labeled ligands and chemiluminescence generated by the contact is detected by using a sterilized member in contact with the biochemical analysis unit.
