PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for testing light stability, which can easily carry out an exchanging work and a dimmer control for a light source and can effectively carry out a test under a high temperature and a low temperature conditions. SOLUTION: The apparatus is provided with the light source 1 such as a xenon lamp, high-pressure mercury lamp or the like which projects light onto a sample, an optical filter 5 which adjusts wavelength spectrums of the light projected onto the sample 6, and a sample setting room 2 being surrounded by metallic partitions 3, having a window 4 through which the projected light passes, and containing the sample 6 made up in a prescribed form by cutting out a sealing material or a substrate material. The light source 1 is disposed outside the sample setting room 2, and outputs of the light source 1 are controlled by a dimmer device 14 in accordance with illuminance values detected by a photo sensor 13 arranged near the sample 6, and thereby keeping a constant value of the illuminance on the sample 6.
