PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium processing device capable of reducing pressure fluctuation by a roller for a medium at a position for pulling it to a side and pulling the medium to the side accurately. SOLUTION: When inserting the medium, a roller 21a for conveyance is opened, and a sheet stopper is closed for a through hole 33a. The medium is arranged by a user so that a side end part in the direction of insertion of the medium is abutted on the sheet stopper in this condition to close a roller 22 for pulling it to the side and pull the medium over to the side for a butting member 20d. Only pressure fluctuation due to ascent and descent of the roller 22 for pulling it to the side occurs in the medium until operation for pulling it to the side is performed by the operation. Moreover, when the roller 22 for pulling it to the side rises and falls, the side end part in the direction of insertion of the medium is abutted on the sheet stopper to regulate travel of the medium by the sheet stopper. Furthermore, if an error occurs in the operation for pulling it to the side, the roller 22 for pulling it to the side is rotated in the reverse direction to separate the medium from the butting member 20d greatly.
