PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cutting an ingot accurately, and an apparatus for the method. SOLUTION: In the apparatus for cutting the ingot 4, the ingot 4 is cut at a predetermined position by an endless belt-like blade 2 provided between at least two rotationally driven pulleys under tension.
