PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a metallic tube by which high shape accuracy, dimensional accuracy and surface quality are obtained and, especially, in which a lubricant is not used by taking environmental problems into consideration. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method of the metallic tubes includes a plastic deformation stage by roll forming, forming using dies and shoes or forming using them jointly and a welding stage. This manufacturing method of a straight seam welded metallic tube is performed by adding ultrasonic vibration to all or part of adopted rolls, dies and shoes. In this way, the cross section of the tube in forming, in welding or just after welding along the longitudinal direction is restrained and pressurized continuously. Friction produced with a material to be worked and the metallic tube is remarkably reduced by adding the ultrasonic vibration to the rolls, the dies and the shoes. Furthermore, because driving force is imparted to the material to be worked and the metallic tube by constituting so that surface traveling waves are formed by transmitting the vibration to the surface of the dies, the shoes, or the like, as compared with conventional methods, the metallic tube having higher accuracy and higher quality is easily manufactured.
