A thermoplastic polyolefine composition comprises a mouldable thermoplastic polyolefine of melt index (10x) not higher than 5 dg./min. and another such polyolefine of lower molecular weight and of melt index (10x) 1-20 dg./min. The polyolefine of higher molecular weight may comprise 15-50% of the composition and may be produced by suspension polymerization while the lower molecular weight polyolefine may be produced by solution polymerization. The polyolefines may be both polyethylene or both ethylene-butene-1 copolymers. The composition may be produced by blending the molten polymers, e.g. maintained at less than 50 DEG C. above the m.p. of the highest melting component, while subjecting the melt to shearing action. The composition may contain 2,6 - ditert.- butyl 4 - methyl phenol and may be moulded into bottles. |
