<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid catalyst showing excellent activity when an organic compound is synthesized by using Michael addition reaction and to provide a method of manufacturing the compound shown by general formula (III). <P>SOLUTION: This metallic cation-exchanged montmorillonite catalyst contains montmorillonite whose metallic cation is ion-exchanged and is used in the Michael addition reaction of a 1, 3-dicarbonyl compound with α,β-unsaturated ketone. The compound shown by general formula (III) is manufactured by reacting the 1, 3-dicarbonyl compound having the specified structure with the α,β-unsaturated ketone having the specified structure in the presence of this metallic cation-exchanged montmorillonite catalyst. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
