<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of preventing damages of members of a plurality of functional units or an image forming apparatus main body when a user attaches/detaches the functional units. <P>SOLUTION: A guiding part 112 is provided to a process frame 11 of the image forming apparatus 100 and a guided shaft 22 is provided to a developing device 2. In a state that the process frame 11 is not attached to the apparatus body, appropriate attachment and positioning of the developing device 2 are hindered by constituting the image forming apparatus so that the guiding part 112 of the developing device 2 is not formed. Furthermore, a projected engaging part 24 integrally formed on the developing device 2 is provided so as to be projected on the attachment path of the process frame 11 so that the process frame 11 can not be attached when the developing device 2 is erroneously attached to the apparatus main body. When the developing device 2 is attached first and the process frame 11 is attempted to be attached, the projected engaging part 24 is interfered with the process frame 11 and attachment of the process frame 11 to the apparatus body is hindered. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
