<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb catalyst carrier having an outer wall in which the occurrence of a crack in the outer wall and the peeling of the outer wall can be prevented effectively in a catalyst support process, and the concentration distribution of catalyst components in each part of the carrier can be made uniform and a method for producing the carrier. <P>SOLUTION: In a cell structure 1 constituting the honeycomb catalyst carrier 5, an impregnation part 1a impregnated with a water-insoluble organic substance to be eliminated by burning or an inorganic substance is formed in the peripheral part of a prescribed thickness of a porous body constituting the cell structure 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
