PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply an image processing properly to a synthetic image formed from a natural image and a CG image. SOLUTION: A synthetic image GO is separated into an area with natural images and an area with CG images, and the image processing parameter PO is calculated on the basis of the data in the area with natural images, and the synthetic image GO is subjected to an image processing to produce an intermediately processed synthetic image G1. The area corresponding to the natural images contained in the intermediately processed synthetic image G1 and the area corresponding to the CG images contained in the synthetic image GO are synthesized, and a processed synthetic image G2 is produced.
