PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston valve structured with less dependency on the technique of a skilled artisan for improved timbre of a brass instrument. SOLUTION: An upper-spring type spring-containing piston valve is equipped with an operation part that a player operates, a valve part which switches the passage of blown-in air, and a mechanism part which applies restoring force to the operation part and valve part with an internal spring 1 interposed between the both, and a rod-shaped metallic rod 2 is projected from the lower end surface of the operation part toward a hollow part of the spring 1. For improved timbre of the brass instrument, the structure having less dependency on the technique of a skilled artisan is obtained in the form of the piston valve. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
