PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus stably forming good images over a long period of time when using transfer paper of high quality, as a matter of course, and when using low quality transfer paper as well in the image forming apparatus forming the image by using a positively electrostatic type organic photoreceptor and a reversal developing method. SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus carrying out image formation by the positively electrifying reversal developing method, an electrifying means, an exposure means, a developing means, a transfer means and a cleaning means are installed in the periphery of the positively electrifying type organic photoreceptor. The cleaning means is constituted of a cleaning blade and a fur brush which is installed on an upstream side of the blade in the moving direction of the photoreceptor. The brush material of the fur brush is constituted to be non-conductive and of polyamide. A triboelectrifying plate which is abutted to the fur brush to positively triboelectrify the brush material is provided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
