PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate for an electrooptical device in which rubbing stripes seldom occur, a method for manufacturing the substrate, the electrooptical device including the substrate and an electronic appliance including the electrooptical device. SOLUTION: In the substrate, in the substrate for the electrooptical device including a wiring pattern and in the electrooptical device including the substrate, a dummy pattern to prevent the occurrence of rubbing stripes, for example, a stripe shaped dummy pattern of which the distance from an adjacent dummy pattern is set to be a value within 1-1,000μm range is mounted on a position which corresponds to a draw out part of the wiring pattern and on which no wiring pattern is formed.
