PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single layer electrophotographic photoreceptor which realizes uniform dispersion of phthalocyanines in a photosensitive layer and has high sensitivity to a digital light source, and the electrostatic charge stability under the high-temperature environment, weatherability, and NOx resistance. SOLUTION: The single photosensitive layer containing the phthalocyanine as a charge generating agent, a charge transport agent of a prescribed insoluble azo pigment, and a prescribed binder resin is formed on a conductive substrate. An insoluble azo pigmenent, which does not contain an OH group in the molecule, and of which (a) the absorbance in an absorption wavelength region of the phthalocyanine is below one-third the absorbance in the same wavelength region of the phthalocyanine or (ii) the absorbance in the wavelength region of the exposure light source of an image forming device is below one-third the absorbance in the same wavelength region of the phthalocyanine, is used as the insoluble azo pigmenent.
