PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for a release agent, made of a non-silicone compound and capable of giving a release sheet which has excellent releasability in a normal state and is prevented from deterioration in the releasability even after contacted with a solvent or exposed to a high-temperature environment, and to provide the release sheet given by using the same. SOLUTION: This composition for the release agent contains a component (A) and a component (B), wherein the component (A) comprises a polyvinyl alcohol-based polymer containing repeating units expressed by formula (I) and repeating units expressed by formula (II) (X is a direct bond or a divalent bonding group; and R is an aliphatic hydrocarbon residue having 12 or more carbon atoms) as constituent units, and the component (B) comprises a polyfunctional compound having two or more hydroxy-reactive functional groups. The release sheet is obtained by forming a release agent layer which is a cured product of the composition on at least one of surfaces of a base material. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
