PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an isobutylene block copolymer efficiently having a desired molecular structure and excellent mechanical characteristics by controlling rapid heat generation through restraint on a reaction rate and controlling a rise in temperature caused by sensible heat. SOLUTION: This method comprises a step of adding sequentially an aromatic vinyl monomer partially or continuously into a reaction liquid containing polyisobutylene with a cationically polymerizable active terminal.
