PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a delivery device 14 having a simple structure and reducing a manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: An upstream side conveyor 21 and a downstream side conveyor 22 are provided in series in a delivery direction for delivering an article 12. A motor roller 31 having a direct current motor and a pulse generating part arranged in the roller part is used as a driving source for the upstream side conveyor 21 and downstream side conveyor 22. An article 12 conveyed from the upstream side conveyor 21 to the downstream side conveyor 22 is detected by a first article detecting part 42. While the first article detecting part 42 is detecting the article 12, the length of the article 12 in the delivery direction is detected according to the number of pulses generated by the pulse generating part of the motor roller 31. Based on the length of the article 12 in the conveying direction, a delivery timing for delivering the article 12 from the downstream side conveyor 22 is controlled. Each motor roller 31 of the upstream side conveyor 21 and the downstream side conveyor 22 directly drives each belt 26. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
