PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve congestion near the inlet and outlet and allow a user to smoothly get on and off. SOLUTION: A plurality of light sources 15a to 15e are provided between boarding plates 10a of the getting on/of part 14 of the escalator at an interval along the moving direction of a footstep 8. The plurality of light sources 15a to 15e compose the guiding device, and these light sources 15a to 15e blink according to the timing of getting on and off the footstep 8 with a control device 16.
