PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a camera by effectively utilizing the space in a photographic film cartridge. SOLUTION: The cartridge 25 comprises a top cover 49, a spool 50, a cartridge tube 56, and a bottom cover 57. The spool 50 has electrical conductivity, contains a battery 69 therein and is held by ribs 70 and 71. The rib 71 has electrical conductivity and comes into contact with a positive terminal 69b of the battery 69. The rib 70 is provided with an aperture 70a exposing a negative terminal 69a of the battery 69. A winding knob 11 having electrical conductivity engages the aperture 70a and contacts 11a of the winding knob 11 come into contact with a negative terminal of the battery 69. A contact piece 41 is connected to the spool 50 and a contact piece 42 to the winding knob 11, respectively. A power source is supplied to the camera by the contact pieces 41 and 42.
